Windows 10 – The Windows we know and love

Windows 10 We Know and Love

Here at SOS Support we are always keeping up with the latest bits of PC news and information, and this one might interest a lot of you Windows users!

Only a few years after the release of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, Microsoft is now prepping for a 2015 release of their new OS.  Microsoft is skipping 9 and going straight to Windows 10, which is fitting with the big changes that are on the way with the new operating system.

With Windows 8 and 8.1, Windows tried to make a big splash with a lot of big changes to the “traditional” windows feel that we all know and love, and with those changes came with mixed feelings from consumers.  For those of you with touch screen laptops or 2-in-1’s, you might love the Windows 8 feel, but for those like myself who prefer a traditional non-touch laptop or desktop and who are much more productive with a good ‘ole keyboard and mouse,  Windows 8 definitely has had it’s flaws.

Well things are about to change…

With Microsoft’s next release they have announced that they are going back to a Windows 7 feel, built around the start menu that we have known for years, as well as the traditional desktop.

Some might think this seems like a step back, but the majority of people (especially business owners and those of you who use their PC for daily work) are most likely on the edge of their seats waiting for the release of Windows 10.  I know I am!  And even though Microsoft has chosen to return to a more traditional feel, you can still expect better performance along with other new features that are yet to be announced.

Check back often for more updates on Windows 10.  Here at SOS Support, your IT Support in Salt Lake City, we will keep up on latest and keep you posted!
