This week, I have the honor of writing about my wonderful associates, and examples in my life.

Meet the team! Michelle Atkinson is the lady of the team. She pulls the company together. There wouldn’t be a team without her. She is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. She has patience like I have never seen before. She is a perfect fit for SOS Support.

Q:What is the name of your position? – Office Manager

Q:What do you do? – “I coordinate and support the office so that SOS can function efficiently.”

Q:What do you most like about this company? – “I love working with the team! We have the best people here, and that includes our clients. I also love the feeling of accomplishment I have from investing myself in a company that I believe in.”

Q:What are you most proud of? – “The growth of both the employees and SOS itself. We have built something wonderful!”

Q:What do you like doing outside of work? – “I love spending time at home with my husband and our pets. I also really enjoy cooking, cleaning, reading and writing, being outdoors, and all my artsy hobbies.”

Q:Where do you ultimately want to go in this company? – “My goal is to become the V.P. of Operations. I hope to support and watch SOS grow and succeed. I want to be a part of that!”

Q:What are your life long dreams? – “I want to have a family, and I dream of retiring to a cottage in the woods, writing books, gardening and running an online lifestyle magazine that focuses on leading a happy, full life.”

Q:What is your biggest achievement within this company? – “My biggest achievement is building the structure and pipelines that have supported the growth of SOS. My role has been a supporting one. I fortify our bonds with each other and our Clients, and I develop the processes that streamline our work and communication, which makes us effective Techs and partners with our Clients.”

Q:Outside of this company? – “I’m a successful wedding photographer. I left the industry to join SOS, but I still indulge every now and then.”

Q:What do you most like about your job? – “I love my job! I love talking to and supporting people, and I love being able to organize and create. Those are my passions, and my role allows me to fulfill them in a way that is immensely satisfying.”

Q:Why did you decide to apply for this job? – “I wanted to be able to be a part of a team that I could be proud of. I wanted to make a difference and be apart of something great, and I believe that I am!”

Q:What are the most important facts about yourself? – “I grew up in the swamps and coastal plains of Southeast Texas. I love it there! I love being in the woods and at the beach. I am obsessed with creating: pictures, stories, spaces, art, food, you name it. And most of all, I love people. The wonderful people in my life are what make my world go ’round.”

Q:Why is it important to have someone like you? – “I implement structure and make it possible for SOS to sustain growth. The Office Manager supports the team, works with Clients, and keeps SOS running internally, which ultimately frees up our president to invest himself in growing the business.”

Q:How old were you when you got your first job? – “13 years old. I was a receptionist for a property owner’s association, Bar X P.O.A. When I was 7, I used to help out in our family pet store and help my Mom with wildlife rehabilitation, but I don’t really count that. I didn’t get paid, except maybe with food.”

Q:Is there anything you would change about the company? – “Everything that I want for this company is already in the works. I want the company to grow and be successful, including the individual employees. I’m just happy that I can be a part of it!”
