Empowering Your Remote Workers

Empowering Your Remote Workers

If your business is anything like ours, not all of your work can be done within the office.

Many small business grow rapidly and don’t have the real estate to bring more workers into their offices.  Because of this problem, plus the fact that businesses are becoming much less local, remote workers are becoming more and more common.

Remote workers can be an excellent option for many of our businesses.  It gives us the ability to hire someone who may not live right by our business.  It also gives workers the ability to work from home, where many people are much more productive workers as they can find a quiet place and not be distracted by the hustle and bustle of a typical office.

Making the most out of remote workers is the only tricky part.  Because there is no face to face communication, there has to be a way to make up for it.

Thanks to today’s technology, bringing these workers into our “virtual office” is much easier and much more realistic than it has ever been.  Video conferencing makes face to face meetings possible, remote desktop capabilities can give remote workers access to office computers, and cell phones and wireless capabilities make communication always possible.

One of the most overlooked aspects of remote workers is phone systems.  The majority of businesses around the country are still using “old school” phone systems that are hard wired in and limited to within the office.

VOIP, or online phone, systems are becoming more and more available and effective.  Accommodating remote workers into our phone systems is suddenly much easier and cheaper.  Using these new systems we can add remote workers into our phone system flawlessly.

For help or more information about working with your businesses’ remote workers feel free to contact SOS Support, your IT specialists in Salt Lake City, Utah.  If you’re intrigued by the idea of a VOIP phone system for your business, keep your eye on our blog.  Over the next couple days we will be doing a spotlight specifically on these systems and what services SOS Support can offer you.
